Pierre Véron’s activities
in respect of
the Unified Patent Court

Pierre Véron took an active part, as of 2001, in the work leading up to the creation of the Unified Patent Court by the Agreement of 19 February 2013.

In this respect, he was heard by the European Parliament on 11 October 2011 and by the Rapporteur of the French Senate on the bill regarding the privileges and immunities of the Unified Patent Court (http://www.senat.fr/rap/l17-142/l17-1421.pdf)

From 2007 to 2012, he was one of two French experts assisting the European Commission for the development of the Unitary Patent and Unified Patent Court project.

Since 2014 he has been a member of the Drafting Committee of the Rules of Procedure of the Unified Patent Court and of the Expert Panel advising the Preparatory Committee of this Court4.

Within this framework, in these capacities, he took part in the public hearing on the 17th Draft Rules of Procedure held in Trier on 26 November 2014.

He edited the publication of a trilingual version (German, French, English) of the main texts relating to the Unitary Patent and the Unified Patent Court.
